Terms and conditions of sale
These general terms and conditions of sale are intended for use in booking stays in rooms at "La Sauternaise", 22 rue principale, 33210 Sauternes, France. They constitute the booking contract between the owner, La Sauternaise, and the customer for a stay in a room.
Article 1 - Duration of stay : The customer rents one or more rooms for a fixed period and may not, under any circumstances, claim any right to remain in the premises.
Article 2 - Prices : The prices indicated on the www.lasauternaise.com website are the only contractual prices. They include all taxes (VAT and tourist taxes will be calculated on the basis of the regulations in force on the date of the stay). Rates do not include tourist tax, which must be paid on the day of arrival.
Article 3 - Booking validation: Bookings can be made by e-mail, telephone, WhatsApp or text message, or via this website. The reservation is considered validated and firm only after receipt of credit card details (surname, first name, number, expiry date) and any deposit (from 3 nights on a single or multiple rooms), deductible from the bill on arrival. The deposit must be paid no later than 5 working days from the date of the booking request. The deposit amounts to 30% of the total price of the stay. Payment of the deposit can be made by secure Paypal payment via the Internet or by telephone with us via the Credit Agricole payment software we use. Payment of a deposit implies acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale. As soon as we receive your deposit, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with details of the service you have booked, which has contractual value. If the reservation is made by telephone, we undertake to confirm receipt of the deposit by telephone or SMS. If the customer wishes, a booking contract can be sent by post.
Article 4 - Cancellation by the customer :
- For bookings of one or two nights (one room for two nights or two rooms for the same date)
On reservation :
Credit card imprint with no advance debit as guarantee.
Cancellation :
The customer must pay the full amount of the reservation if he cancels within 2 days prior to arrival (e.g. for a Saturday arrival, a Thursday cancellation entails payment of the reservation).
- For bookings of three nights or more (a single room for several nights or several rooms for the same date(s))
On reservation :
Reservation deposit of 30% by credit card. Credit card imprint as guarantee.
Cancellation :
Cancellation is free if made up to 31 days before arrival.
Between the 30th and 14th day beforethe day of arrival, 30% of the booking will be retained by the accommodation.
If the cancellation is made between the 13th and 8th day before the start of the stay, the accommodation will charge an additional 20% of the booking, i.e. a total of 50%.
If cancellation occurs between the 7th day before the start of the holiday and the day of arrival, the price of the entire holiday is due.
- In the event of a shortened stay, the price corresponding to the total cost of the accommodation remains payable in full to the owners.
Article 5 - Cancellation by the owners: If, before the start of the holiday, the owners cancel the holiday for reasons beyond their control, they must inform the customer as soon as possible by telephone or e-mail. The customer will be reimbursed immediately for any sums paid.
Article 6 - Arrival time: The customer must arrive on the day specified in the reservation and at the times mentioned below. Rooms are available from 4pm. On the day, messages concerningarrival messages are sent. If a customer does not respond to messages or calls or does not show up before 8 p.m. on the scheduled arrival date, the owners reserve the right to dispose of the rooms. Arrivals are made autonomously via digicode and key box whose coordinates are sent by courier on the day of arrival around 2pm / 3pm.
Article 7 - Check-out time: Rooms must be vacated by 11am. After 12 noon, an additional night will be charged.
Article 8 - Payment of the balance : The balance of the stay must be paid on arrival. The balance can be paid :
- In cash, vacation vouchers or
- By secure payment via Credit Agricole.
Unplanned consumption and additional services will be paid for at the end of your stay.
Article 9 - Tourist tax : The tourist tax is a local tax and is not included in the price of the night's stay. It is collected by owners on behalf of the commune, and then paid to the Treasury. It amounts to €0.50/person/night.
Article 10 - Change of rooms: Without the customer being entitled to claim any compensation, the owners reserve the right to change the room initially booked by the customer for a room of the same capacity. In such a case, the cost of the reservation remains unchanged.
Article 11 - Capacity: Reservations are made for a specific number of people (2 per room). If, on the day of arrival, the number of occupants is greater, the owners are entitled to refuse additional persons (including children). This refusal can in no way be considered as a modification or breach of contract on the owners' initiative, so that in the event of the departure of a number of people greater than those refused, no reimbursement can be considered.
Article 12 - Breakfast : Breakfast is served on a first-come, first-served basis from 8.40am to 10.00am in the common room or in the courtyard, weather permitting.
Article 13 - Pets: For reasons of hygiene and the peace and quiet of our guests, pets are not accepted. Should the customer fail to respect this clause, the refusal to accept pets and their owners cannot be considered as a modification or breach of contract on the initiative of the owners of La Sauternaise. Consequently, in the event of the customer's departure, no reimbursement can be considered.
Article 14 - Art of living, use of the premises: All guests are expected to respect a certain art of living in order to ensure the tranquillity of the premises and the comfort of guests. In addition, "La Sauternaise" is an entirely non-smoking area, with the exception of the outside courtyards. Guests are also asked not to eat in their rooms. The customer undertakes to respect the rules of good manners set out in the rooms and in these general terms and conditions of sale. The customer undertakes to return the rooms in perfect condition at the end of the stay and to declare, and assume financially, any damage for which he/she may be responsible. Children staying at "La Sauternaise" are the sole responsibility of their parents.
Article 15 - Data protection: In accordance with the law of January 6, 1978, you have the right to access and rectify any data concerning you. "La Sauternaise" undertakes not to pass on the information you have provided to other companies or organizations. The present conditions of sale may be modified at any time without prior notice. Acceptance of and compliance with these general terms and conditions of sale are deemed to have been acquired on payment of the deposit.
